Introduction

Kite Sri Lanka Organisation is the pioneer non- profitable kite flying organisation in Sri Lanka founded with an objective of developing kite flying as a sport island wide, promoting tourism and popularising traditional Sri Lankan kites in the world. 

Established in 2008 at Negombo, Kite Sri Lanka Organisation takes the responsibility of organising the annual National Kite Festival “Nil Ahase Wasanthaya” and most of national, international and local kite related events in Sri Lanka. 

Kite Sri Lanka Organisation also represents Sri Lankan traditional art of kite flying wrapped with Sri Lankan Heredity, the Art and Culture, Technology, Creativity in the international kites festivals across the world and takes the honour of bringing the image of Sri Lankan kite to the international arena. Further it works with number of international kite organisations, networks and countries to keep us connected and to share the modern trends. 

As the prominent kite flying organisation, Kite Sri Lanka wishes to share the peaceful and exciting experience of kite flying and invite kite lovers in all ages, ethnic religious groups to feel the wind and to feel the life with kites.

To support kite lovers to find their opportunities beyond the boundaries while preserving the inherent Sri Lankan kite culture and thereby to contribute Sri Lankan sports, tourism, manufacturing industries and enduring peaceful mind set among citizens through kite flying.
